A body usually made up of ice, rock, and dust that orbits a star (sky).
Forms a trail through space due to solar winds (but usually not visible with the naked eye from the surface of a planet).
Not to be confused with meteor, which enters a planet's atmosphere and can crash into the surface if large enough. A comet never enters the atmosphere.
