Mastering Facial Tags and Expressions

I know it can be difficult for some people to achieve the exact facial expression they want. Personally, I can struggle with it too, so I’m going to help you find the Danbooru tags you need to get as close as possible to the best result.

Note : A Danbooru tag is a keyword label from Danbooru, an anime image database. These tags describe characters, styles, poses, clothing, expressions, and more. Many of the models we use are trained using these tags.

That’s why I made this small guide with a few examples. To get the best facial expressions out of SDXL models, I won’t provide an image for every single expression, but you’ll find a much more exhaustive list at the end of the article.

All images were generated using the following prompt:

Positive: 1girl, solo, upper body, facing viewer, dress

Negative: breasts, nipples

Anger & hostility

Blush & shyness

Confusion & unease

Smug & mischievous

Crazy & unhinged

Flirtatious & pleasure

Expressions as emojis

There are also expressions represented as emojis. Here are some examples:

Now imagine you want a girl who reaches the Womba Momba Summit 😉. For this example, we use a side view so that we can clearly see her face.

Or maybe you want a shy girl pouting at you?
