big bad wolf

The Big Bad Wolf is the archetypal predator of European folk tales, best known as the cunning villain of Little Red Riding Hood who tricks the heroine and disguises himself as her grandmother. He is usually shown as a large grey wolf or an anthropomorphic one, with sharp teeth, claws, a long snout and a sly grin, sometimes wearing grandma's nightcap or human clothes.
