cheshire cat (alice in wonderland)

The grinning cat of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, who vanishes leaving only his smile behind. Mischievous and cryptic. Usually drawn as a striped cat in purple fur with pink stripes, yellow eyes and a wide smile, often in humanized versions with cat ears.
