cthulhu (cthulhu mythos)

Cthulhu is the most famous of the Great Old Ones in the Cthulhu Mythos, a cosmic entity sleeping in the sunken city of R'lyeh whose dreams drive mortals mad. It is pictured as a colossal green creature with a squid like head, a writhing mass of tentacles around its mouth, scaly skin and huge bat like wings. Fan art ranges from towering horror to cute plush versions and humanized reinterpretations.
